Laser-etched wood cactus ornament from an original illustration by artist Jen Urso.
This laser-etched cactus tree ornament features a Santa Rita Prickly Pear cactus (Opuntia gosseliniana) that actually exists somewhere in Phoenix (you’d have to get the Phoenix Cactus Map to find it). Why settle for all those cactus products and decorations made in the UK or China? This one actually represents the real beauty of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, found right here on our city streets.
One of the many different prickly pear cacti you can find around the Phoenix area, this one turns a blueish-purple hue when exposed to abundant sunshine. It would also look great illuminated with abundant holiday lights! Each ornament is laser-etched and cut in my own workshop from repurposed clipboards found at local Phoenix thrift stores. Not only are you adorning your tree with handmade, cactus love, but you’re helping waste be to repurposed!
