Located directly in Downtown Phoenix, The Stewart Condos were looking to celebrate the local arts community that has made the area so vibrant. Among other murals and artworks commissioned for the space, they wanted an iconic map of the Downtown Phoenix area so their residents could find their way around the walkable area. This colorful, large-scale hand drawn map celebrates the architecture of the unique historic neighborhoods in the area, the abundance of walkable parks and of course the dynamic arts, businesses and restaurants.

I started this map in pencil to get an idea of its scale then brought it into the computer to complete with my Wacom screen in Photoshop. Since this map had to scale up to a 11’ x 9’ size, I carefully converted everything into scalable vector art in Illustrator.

Made primarily for their residents, this map helps those living at The Stewart to feel more connected to their neighborhood and community
