Lindau, Germany Map

Client: Private Client

Did you know that Germany had an island? I didn't…until I started working on this personalized travel map of quaint and colorful Lindau. As a favorite vacation spot for my client and his family, he wanted to commemorate all of their favorite memories, foods and funny stories along with the bright, elaborate architecture dating back to Roman times. The challenge here was fitting SO many stories into such a small place! But, this also allowed me to add more detail than I normally might. Features includ the famouse Bavarian Lion sculpture and lighthouse at the entrance to the harbor, the Mangturm (built in the 1100s), the Altes Rathous (built in 1422) and the Diebsturm (a medieval prison tower from 1380). I was sure to highlight their namesake Linden trees and plenty of bright colors, reflecting Lindau's eclectic streets.
